BAMA Performance offers a Ghost Cam 2011-2017 Mustang GT and 2011-2014 V6 Mustangs equipped with both automatic and manual transmission. Ghost Cam calibrations are available for both Off-Road and Catt'ed exhaust systems.
Some 2011-2017 V6 Mustangs are not capable of producing the Ghost Cam effect, this is dependent on the strategy code. Some strategies do not have all of the information to produce the Ghost Cam effect. If your 2011-2017 V6 Mustang does not produce the signature Ghost Cam sound after uploading the tune, this is a result of the strategy code.
Ghost Cam tunes utilize the Mustang's Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing (TiVCT) to make the engine sound and feel race-ready. With the tune loaded onto the Mustang, three conditions must be met for the Ghost Cam idle to enable:
**Please Note - This is a novelty tune and can produce some stalling, surging, or drive-ability issues. BAMA Performance does not offer any revisions or datalogging to accommodate calibration symptoms of this nature produced by the Ghost Cam tunes.
- 130 seconds have elapsed since the engine coolant temperature reached 170 °F (77 °C) while the engine is running.
- The engine must not currently be idling. (Note that it is sufficient just to rev it up in neutral or drive away once the other conditions have been met and cam-idle mode will be enabled)
- There must not be any detected failures of the engine control related sensors or actuators.
With these conditions met, the cam-idle will activate and remain active until the next key-cycle, when all the conditions are checked again.
